FAQ

Equipment

What camera do you use?

Mostly I use my iPhone 8 Plus 10 XR. I also use a Nikon D3400 DSLR and a GoPro HERO 3+ Silver that I purchased in 2014.

What lenses do you use?

My Nikon has an 18-55 mm lens and a 70 - 300 mm lens.

What software to do you use to edit your photos?

Funny (but true) story: Instagram. For 99% of my photos, I edit them quickly in IG and then AirDrop them to my Mac. I also have an old as dirt Photoshop Elements 6 version that I use. I'd love to upgrade but the 6 does everything that I need it to for now. If you don't want to fork over a lot of money for the newer versions, you can find it on eBay for around $20-30 and it's fairly easy to learn. Adobe also offers a free 30 day trial of the most recent software.

What kind of printer do you have?

I use a Canon Pixma MG6620 Wireless All-In-One Color Cloud Printer. I purchased it in 2015 and there are compatible newer models. It's 4 years old, still going strong and I've never had any issues with it.

What kind of paper do you use?

For scrapbooking, I like to use photo paper to get really dark darks which I don't find that I get with regular cardstock. Usually I use HP Glossy Everyday Photo Paper or Canon Photo Paper Glossy Letter Size.

Side note: Because I always have multiple projects going and I tend to print a lot of photos & digital elements, I go through ink rather quickly. Instead of spending an assload (actual measurement) I found replacement ink cartridges at a fraction of the cost. And they work just as well as the Canon ink cartridges do. Each box comes with 20 inks (4 sets) and lasts me about a year to a year and a half FOR $16.99. Yes, you read that right. And it's a Prime item. Winning? I think so.

What kind of computer do you use?

I have a MacBook Air.

Memory Keeping

What font do you use for your Project Life cards?

The font is call American Typewriter, which you can find here or comparable typewriter fonts here. I use 11 point for my cards.

Where do you get your journal cards?

95% of my journaling cards are from In A Creative Bubble. I also use cards from Kelly Purkey, Ali Edwards and Studio Calico.

Where did you find the photo/graphic of...

For book covers, Netflix shows, movies and random current event photos, I use Google. Seriously. It's easier to find what you're looking for if your search is more descriptive (Broadchurch vs Broadchurch Season 2 Poster.) Also, make sure you check the dpi. Otherwise you'll end up with a pixelated image when you try to blow it up to card size.
